Review:
The Best Idea in the World
Some books are a joy to read and this is one of them. It’s a joy because of what it’s about – how putting relationships first transforms everything, and it’s a joy because of how it’s written – a fast, flowing feel, with lots of stories, humour and prodding challenges.
Mark Greene, executive director of LICC, author of such gems as Thank God it’s Monday and regular Christianity columnist has written one of the best books I’ve read for ages. Okay, writing about the great commandment is not new, but here we get hit with a fresh approach. Everything we do, from buying a microwave to supplying biscuits for a coffee break, to how we live day-today, affects our relationships. The key to the good life lies in having good relationships and loving well and Greene gives us guidelines for doing that, but you need to buy the book to find out what they are. Go on, you won’t be disappointed!
HIGH: It really was a joy to read, but challenging too.
LOW: Sometimes it was unclear who the book was aimed at.
