Books:
God Knows My Name
Beth Redman’s latest book God
Knows My Name is her bravest yet.
The co-writer of ‘Blessed Be Your
Name’ talks in sometimes distressing
detail about her background and reveals
a traumatic past.
But this is not a ‘misery memoir’.
Redman dwells surprisingly little on her
own pain, but writes with strength and
authority about how she learned to call
on Jesus and allow him to restore her.
Like her previous books, this is
aimed primarily at women and is written
in a chatty, friendly style. Drawing on
scripture and her own personal insights,
she writes of God as helper, defender
and restorer, describing a loving father
who shapes our character and sees our
choices.
She encourages the reader to learn
how to lean on God, whatever our past
holds. Apart from an editing mistake
early on which threw me slightly, this is a
hugely inspiring and comforting book.
