Review:

Feels Like Dynamite

Hailing from Coventry, [dweeb], a Christian rock band formed in 2002, continue to impress with their second full-length album, Feels Like Dynamite. Its mix of Wombats-style indie rock and Hadouken electro-pop produces a wonderful hybrid which will appeal to mainstream listeners.

The album eases in with ‘Dynamite’, a track which deserves its title, and this explosiveness is maintained for the duration of this studio album. Musically the band is extremely strong, with great bass lines accompanied by sweet synths, and the album’s production is near perfect. ‘It’s Ok’, the only single from this album, and ‘Silence is Golden’, with its driving heavy electric guitar both deserve credit for their lyrics and music.

But as good as the album is, [dweeb] seemingly struggle for variety, with a lot of the tracks having a similar feel.

HIGH: Definitely one to bring in a new audience, with a mainstream sound to it.

LOW: Too many similar sounding tracks; could become boring after a while.
