King of my heart

This album opens with an excellent song ‘Shine’ sung by Kipper; one of many guest vocalists Nick Battle has worked with over the years. Jodie Battle sings a splendid version of ‘Everything’ which was her dad’s way of saying “I love you” to her mother. Battle himself sings the lyrics on ‘Smile’, and this simple flowing song is poetry in motion. The blend of vocals, artists and musical styles climaxes with the masterful ‘King of My Heart’ written about Jesus and sung by Chris Easton – truly magnificent.

HIGH: The superb vocals by Jodie Battle, Chris Easton and Nick Battle brought the album to life.

LOW: Vocals on ‘Silver Dollar’, I realise the song tells a sad story but for me the vocals are too low.
