Hope: Take it to the streets

Billed as the soundtrack to the Hope 08 mission campaign, this is a compilation of 20 modern praise and worship songs, most of which have a strong mission focus. So there are tracks such as ‘Take it to the streets’ by Matt Redman and ‘God of justice’ by Tim Hughes. Most of it is guitar-based worship, although there are a couple of R&B tracks by the likes of Four Kornerz.

While ‘Take it to the streets’ is more solid and consistent than most Christian compilation CDs doing the rounds at the moment, many people will already own some of the tracks on other releases. Having said that, if you are someone who doesn’t buy much Christian music, then this compilation is a good way of getting acquainted with some of the best songs and best worship leaders out there.

High: A solid 20- track compilation with some excellent worship songs.

Low: The blues rock of ‘Out on the streets’ sounds a little out of place.
