Rain Down: Songs of outpouring

Whatever bad taste the 2008 Florida Outpouring, led by Todd Bentley, left in the mouth, one of the good things that came out of it was being introduced to worship leader Roy Fields.

On this live album his heart for worship and talent for writing songs is clearly in evidence. The producers of this record have managed to capture the atmosphere of the events while still letting the songs breathe.

Outstanding songs are the Martin Smith and Stuart Garrard co-writes, ‘Rain Down’ and ‘Majesty’ and Fields’ own compositions ‘Less of Me’ and ‘In the Presence of Angels’.

Fields voice has a husky quality which I really like and the musicians play with great sensitivity. This is everything you might expect, a mixture of tender and triumphant worship carefully mixed and presented.

HIGH: God is lifted up and glorified in this album.

LOW : At times there is a little too much direction to people to worship.
