Review:

The Spirit the Water and the Blood

Not everybody appreciates the finer qualities of country music but I think this rootsy debut album from Ryan Delmore will soon have people reaching for their cowboy hats.

This veteran Vineyard worship leader, based in California, has more than 15 years experience in the CCM scene but has only now got around to releasing his own collection of songs. The Spirit the Water and the Blood offers 11 original worship songs by Delmore that are packed with scripture as well as having toe-tapping rhythms and singalong melodies.

Musically, this is a solid country album driven by the acoustic guitar and Delmore’s powerful yet raw vocals.

Top track is ‘Falling down’. Overall, a very enjoyable album for more than the regular country fan.

HIGH: Enhanced CD includes sheet music for piano/guitar plus overhead slides.

LOW: The booklet doesn’t contain information on Delmore or any stories about the songs.
